The Process
How are Kuthu Vilakku - Traditional Lamps made :
Every lamp is unique, ranging from 1.2 feet to 6 feet, adorned with "Nagas" engravings. The production timeline varies depending upon the size. A 5 feet lamp requires 1 day with 3 people to work only on nagas. The entire process relies on teamwork, resulting in a 5-7 day duration to craft a single 5ft lamp.
Intricate Nagas work is done by skilled artisans using their hands, without relying on machines.
Each step demands significant effort from the employees.
